Kingston Announces Huge 128GB Thumb Drive

128gbusbKingston is now making the “world’s first” 128GB USB thumb drive. Or rather, the world’s first real 128GB USB thumb drive. Why the distinction? Because, previous to this product actually showing up on Kingston’s own site, you could buy fake 128GB Kingston drives from Amazon and, of course, Ebay.

Now you get the real, huge, capacious deal instead of a rebadged 2GB stick, but Lord know why you would want one. Just how many PDF boarding passes do you need to take to the print shop at one time, anyway?

For those thinking that this would be a neat way to expand the memory of their netbooks, think again. The 128GB drive is build-to-order and will cost a wallet-emptying $546. There are smaller options, at $213 for 64GB and $120 for 32GB, but you can pick up a real, and much faster, SSD drive from Crucial for just $170.

Nokia N98

Nokia N98, is it better than iPhone?

It is evident that the iPhone success does not allow other mobile phone producers to live in peace. Nokia is among them.

Nokia N98, iPhone killers

According to Nokia France, in the nearest future the "iPhone killers" line will be enriched with one new model from the famous Finnish company -Nokia N98. Regardless of the loud Nokia announcements that iPhone cannot be the rival of the N series smartphones, the company is in the process of preparing a reasonable answer to the "apple" bestseller. As it can be clearly seen by its design N98 resembles very much with the iPhone, but according to many technical features new smartphone from Nokia is even better than its rival.

Nokia N98 technical features:

  • Built in 7,2 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics(5x optical and 20x digital zoom)
  • 3,5 inches sensor VGA display reflecting 16 million colors
  • Built in GPRS receiver
  • OS Symbian S70 3rd version
  • Graphic speed advancer
  • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi b/g/n, HSDPA

According to design and technical features Nokia N98 makes a great impression. We will hope that as the result of the war between smartphone producers the users are going to win having the best products with the bets price.

Sony Ericsson's Satio 12-megapixel touchscreen phone,

Sony Ericsson Idou

MWC 2009
It's still a concept product and the name will change, but when it ships in the latter half of the year, it'll be the phone to watch out for. Enter the Idou, a high-end 12-megapixel touchscreen handset that will deliver Sony Ericsson's "Entertainment Unlimited" a vision that it has been working toward since the start of the joint venture in 2001.

Details about the product are rather scant at the moment, but we do know the Idou will pack a Xenon flash module, a full touch-enabled media menu, 16:9 widescreen display, and run the Symbian Foundation operating system.

When it launches, users can expect a unified Walkman, Cyber-shot and Java gaming experience with the ability to share media across multiple devices, from handsets to computers, to home A/V systems. The concept isn't terribly new as Nokia as been toying around similar ideas with Ovi, an integrated gateway for a multitude of its services. Apple, on the other hand, has also built an ecosystem around the iPhone with the App Store. Other companies like RIM and Palm are catching up as well.

Sony Ericsson Idou

How Sony Ericsson is going to deliver its vision remains a mystery for now, but head of global marketing and vice president of the company Lennard Hoornik is upbeat about it. In a press release statement, he said: "Everything that we have done to date has brought us to this point--we created the music phone category in 2005 selling over 100 million Walkman phones and we are now ready to unveil the next chapter in the evolution of the company--Entertainment Unlimited--giving consumers unlimited opportunities to share their entertainment experiences."

We'll watch how all this pans out in the latter half of the year, but we do feel that Sony Ericsson needs to come up with more compelling products, rather than simply spawning clones of Cyber-shots and Walkmans.
